How to access the hidden menu on your LG so you can unlock it

Are you trying to access the hidden menu of an LG so you can unlock it? First of all, you should know that unlocking any LG by IMEI is a safe process as long as you ask a serious and professional company for this service. By successfully unlocking a cell phone you will be able to use it with any company in any country, but… be careful! If the process goes wrong you could end up damaging or blocking your terminal forever. 😮

There are two ways to unlock your LG: with an unlock code or by cable. Let’s see what each of them consists of.

1 – Unlock your LG with an unlock code

This is the most common method to unlock your LG, although it is not compatible with all devices. To ensure that your LG can be unlocked with a code, you first need to check that your phone requests it. 

How to do this? There are 5 ways to check it:

1.1 – Inserting a chip/SIM from a different company

Simply insert in your LG a SIM that is “incompatible” with your device. What do we mean by “incompatible”? Well, for example, if you bought your LG with Movistar and you want to use it with Telcel, the Telcel SIM would be the “incompatible” one. If the LG asks for an unlock code once you’ve done this, it means that you will be able to unlock it using a code.

1.2 – Dialing a sequence on your phone

Dial the sequence 2945 # * model # without a SIM card or with a SIM card from the original carrier. Don’t know the model of your phone? You can find it in the Settings menu of your LG or, even easier, by clicking on the blue button… 

You already have it? Great! Let’s move on. Let’s suppose your phone is an LG 714; then you must dial the sequence: 2945 # * 714 #.

This sequence will open a menu (the hidden menu on your LG!) in which you must select the option “Unlock SIM”, then “Unlock network”, and a window will open for you to insert the unlock code (or NCK). 

1.3 – Using the Launcher Pro Application

Search for the app on Google Play, download and install it. Then follow these steps:

• Press the ‘home’ button on your phone, and choose ‘LauncherPro’
• Now, press on any empty area of your home screen, and do not release until a new window appears. In it, choose ‘Shortcuts’.
• Select ‘Activities’ and wait a couple of seconds.
• Scroll down the list of options to ‘com.lge.hiddenpersomenu’, and select it.
• Type a name for this shortcut.
• Now tap on the shortcut you just created to access the hidden menu on your LG.
• Select ‘Network Lock”. That’s it! In this section you will be able to unlock your phone.

1.4 – Following the unlock route through the Settings menu

Follow this route: Settings/Settings – Security – Simlock. Then enter the unlock code and press OK.

But what if your LG doesn’t request an unlock code using any of the above methods? Well, in that case, you’ll need an alternative type of unlocking: by app or cable – no problem! It’s an equally secure and 100% reliable method. Let’s see how it works.

2 – Unlocking by app or cable

This is the method we recommend for those LGs that do not request an unlock code or are locked by the “Device Unlock” application because the device itself has preinstalled at the factory. 

Yes, some carriers, such as T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Cricket, AT&T and others, block their devices through this app, but it’s not a problem!

First of all, how do you know if your LG is locked through the Device Unlock app? 

– Make sure you are connected to a stable WiFi.

– Access the “Device Unlock” app and press the “Permanent Unlock” option. It will show an error when unlocking, but don’t worry: it’s totally normal. Once you ask us to unlock it, it will be solved and you will be able to unlock it without any problems.
