Don’t take risks! Unlock your phone with guarantees

One of the most common questions we receive is if it is possible to update your phone after permanently unlocking it.

The answer is a resounding yes!

You can update your phone’s software as often as you like, whether it is an iPhone or any other make. Your phone will remain unlocked no matter how many times you update the software.

Unlocking your phone with doctorSIM is permanent and does not alter the software or void the warranty.

Unlike other similar services, our process is 100% legal and you do not have to worry about the outcome because we offer a full guarantee.

Updating your Android phone after unlocking

Actually, as long as you have unlocked your Android through a legal and guaranteed service like doctorSIM, the process to update your unlocked Android (and use the latest version of its operating system) is exactly the same as the process you would follow to unlock any Android device.

It’s really easy. Grab your mobile phone, tap on the top of the phone and “drag” it down. You’ll see a small wheel at the bottom right. Click on it to go to “Settings.”

Once in “Settings,” scroll all the way down and click on “About” Keep in mind that on some Android phones, this section may be called something other than “”About Phone.” In some models, it may appear under the name “About Device” or similar.

Once there, look for a section called “Updates,” “Software Update,” “System Updates,” or similar. Click on it; it will tell you if your mobile phone is up to date and when it last checked for pending updates. You can click on “Check for updates” (or similar, keep in mind that the terminology may change) and… Voila! Your phone will start downloading the new version, and you will only have to follow the steps it tells you to complete it.

Updating your iPhone after unlocking

Before anything else, remember that if you have not unlocked your iPhone legally and are going to update it, you may lose your unlock. We recommend that you only update the iOS version if you are sure that the method you have used to unlock your iPhone is legal and with guarantees.

If you are sure, it is very easy to update your unlocked iPhone. Just go to Settings > General > Software Update. You may see several software update options appear, just choose the one you want to install.

Then click on “Install now” and then “Download and install”. Next you will need to enter your iPhone passcode, hit “Install Now” again… And that’s it! Your update will start downloading and you just have to follow the instructions that appear on your iPhone.

If you have any doubts, we recommend you to read this article from Apple where they explain it wonderfully as well.
